Hello. My name is Nur Schuba.
I’m a Turkish-American Geoscientist……. and an Illustrator with a passion for sequential art! I make editorial illustrations for science communication purposes and lighthearted comics. One day, I would love to marry my two passions (geology and art) and make humorous children’s books and graphic novels that have a focus on STEM.
In addition to creating illustrations and comics, I also enjoy editing, publishing, and promoting work created by early artists.
Since November 2021, I have been working as an Editor with Level Ground Comics. We create comics anthologies and zines, as well as webcomics.
Between June and October of 2022, I worked as a Part-time Editor for WEBTOON where I assisted with the Call to Action contest judging and pitches.
I also participate two experimental monthly comics anthologies: UTOT komiks and Patchwork: A Comics Zine
When I am not working (geoscience research, illustration work, or editorial assignments), I like to play board games, do pilates, and experiment with printmaking and woodturning.
